First Morocco and then France, so I've had a busy but enjoyable and satisfying couple of work trips out of the office with one coinciding with my birthday so I celebrated Moroccan style.

It was this year's International Golf Travel Market that took place in Morocco, a place that I had never visited before, but with back-to-back meetings, other than time for lunch and dinner, I had little time to explore Marrakech or play golf on what I gather to be fabulous golf courses, so another time perhaps. At this gathering, golf resorts, hotels and courses from all over the world congregate to sell to buyers, whilst it's an opportunity for me to meet with destinations to discuss editorial opportunities and beyond.

I mentioned my birthday above and I highly recommend the Comptoir Darna restaurant for a fun Moroccan evening with traditional food, dance and song. Of course I was completely stitched up and invited to dance with a young Moroccan male dancer in front of a crowd. I felt completely out of my comfort zone - it was one of those situations when you just have to go with it - the picture below shows me deliberating!

The following week, Women & Golf hosted a successful trip to the Le Touquet Golf Resort in northern France. The weather was kind to us, and despite some rain during the first day's practice round, ladies enjoyed two competition rounds in calm and even sunny conditions. Staff at Le Manoir Hotel and both Le Touquet and Hardelot Golf Club could not have been more accommodating to ensure the smooth running of this trip with fabulous food and wine always flowing, and I'd also like to thank TaylorMade and adidas who provided generous prizes.

The good thing about this resort is that in addition to great golf, the nearby Le Touquet town centre has so much to offer for ladies to enjoy - a variety of shops, a selection of bars and restaurants and a stunning beach. Even the two organisers had a chance to take a break with a cheeky glass of wine!

It was a pleasure to host these ladies and a most satisfying week for Women & Golf to know that everyone enjoyed themselves - roll on next year.
