We're going on tour, taking a worldwide trip to discover the best golf destinations with the female golfer in mind.
Whilst quality golf courses are important, for most women, a great travel destination is a lot more than just pristine fairways. If you're anything like us then beautiful accommodation, a pampering session at a spa, top notch cuisine, and an opportunity to enjoy other activities like visiting cultural attractions are also high on the agenda.
There are so many wonderful golf destinations around the world, and everyone’s taste is different, but here are a few places that stir up happy memories for W&G’s contributor Naga Munchetty.
I love playing golf in Scotland. As soon as I reach the border in the car or the plane comes in to land I feel a sense of freedom and I breathe a bit more deeply. I love the landscape and am usually lucky with the weather.
To me there’s not much that beats golf in Scotland by the water. Castle Stuart, Kingsbarns, Loch Lomond are among my many favourites - the list is endless.
My must-do list includes golf, eating haggis bon-bons, watching a dramatic sunset after a good rugged hike - what more could I ask for?
The welcome is always friendly and whether I take a weekend break or a couple weeks north of the border, I always come home feeling refreshed and at peace. For my husband and I, our annual trip to Scotland is a permanent fixture on the calendar.
