The Golf Foundation is delighted to be teaming up with Explanar to present three free Explanar Junior Golf Training Aids to deserving golf clubs and support their Junior Golf Passport coaching activity.

Over the next year, leading golf charity the Golf Foundation is to present three Explanar Junior Golf Training Aids to PGA Professionals and junior sections from golf clubs which have registered for the Junior Golf Passport.

The Junior Golf Passport is the official learning programme of the England Golf Partnership and Golf Development Wales and is helping to transfer keen new players from schools and community golf to golf club junior coaching and regular play.

Endorsed by the Professional Golfers’ Association, the scheme is both an attractive paper booklet to be completed by child and Coach and a user-friendly interactive website (register at www.juniorgolfpassport.org) which monitors progress in each stage of learning the game and recognises player achievement.

Since its official launch last October, 604 golf clubs and 730 PGA Professionals have registered for the Passport, welcoming 3,976 boys and girls into club coaching.

All golf clubs who have ten or more children registered on the Junior Golf Passport by 20th October will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win the first of three Explanars (closing date: 20th October). The first winning club will be announced on the Foundation’s facebook page on 27th October and in the November issue of the charity’s newsletter, Junior Golf Matters.

Two more Explanar Junior Golf Training Aids are available to be won in March and June 2015 respectively (closing dates for registrations to be announced).

Sarah Tennyson, Marketing Manager of the Golf Foundation, said: “We are delighted to work with Explanar in this way to reward three golf facilities who will have demonstrated their support for the Junior Golf Passport scheme. This scheme is going really well, bringing more and more youngsters into club golf, and Explanar’s public backing of this is a fantastic gesture. It shows how the company, and the Explanar’s inventor, PGA Master Professional Luther Blacklock, feel about bringing on the new players.”

Used by some of the world’s top golf professionals and coaches, Explanar has already helped thousands of golfers to improve their swings. The Explanar Junior Golf Training Aid (RRP £349) is smaller in size than the adult version, to cater for junior golfers or anyone under 5ft. The Explanar Golf Training Aid is a kinaesthetic golf training aid which helps to develop your muscle memory of the optimum golf swing, helping you feel what it’s like to hit the perfect shot.

Luther Blacklock, inventor of the Explanar, said: “I cut my teaching teeth working with the Golf Foundation in the mid-1970s and we’re delighted and privileged to be now partnering the Foundation, using Explanars to help them grow the game.”

How to win an Explanar

A golf club needs to have registered for the Junior Golf Passport (register at www.juniorgolfpassport.org), and have 10 children registered on the scheme by 20th October. All of these clubs will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win the first of three Explanars. The winning club will be announced on 27th October. Please note: the decision on this presentation rests with the Golf Foundation and is final.
