Star guests including Sir Steve Redgrave, Mike Tindall, Chris Hollins, and James Nesbitt teed off  with CLIC Sargent patron Eddie Jordan at the Tullow Oil Golf Day 2014.

The event, now in its seventeenth year, was hosted by Eddie, along with Jamie Redknapp, at the Sunningdale Golf Club and raised more £170,000 for CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, and their families.

This year, the Tullow Oil Golf Day took place during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. CLIC Sargent is using the month to raise awareness of the impact of childhood cancer and of their work supporting young cancer patients and their families.

One of those, 18-year-old Amie Ing, a keen golfer from Aylesbury, who was supported by CLIC Sargent during her treatment for osteosarcoma, attended the day.

Eddie Jordan: “As a patron and committed supporter of CLIC Sargent, I’ve seen first-hand just how important its services are for supporting children and young people with cancer, and their families. All the money raised from this event goes towards CLIC Sargent’s vital work, meaning people can have a great day out on the fairways and support a very worthy cause at the same time.”

Jamie Redknapp: “This was my first time hosting the event with Eddie and I couldn’t wait to get out on the world-famous Sunningdale course, meet other golf fans and raise money for CLIC Sargent who provide amazing support for children, young people and their families who are affected by childhood cancer. “

Steve Redgrave: “CLIC Sargent currently reaches two out of three children and young people with cancer – that’s why Sunningdale is so important, as the money raised will help the charity to be there for even more families in need of support.”

Aidan Heavey, Tullow CEO: “We were once again proud to sponsor the Tullow Oil Golf Day to help CLIC Sargent continue their fantastic work supporting children and young people with cancer, and their families.”
