The LPGA is expected to announce that Juli Inkster will be back at the helm of the US Solheim Cup team for a third time in a press conference later today.

Having orchestrated the biggest comeback in Solheim Cup history the last time the prestigious event was on European soil and returned to again lead the US team to victory as Des Moines last September, Inkster is hot favourite to be named to the role again.

Her no-nonsense approach to captaining and the respect she engenders among her team players has made her one of the most respected US captains of all time.

Catriona Matthew has already been named as European Captain for the event, which is slated to be held in her native Scotland from Sept. 13-15 at the PGA Centenary Course, Gleneagles.
