Shanshan Feng became the first Chinese World No. 1 this week, winning the LPGA Blue Bay in front of her home fans to topple Sung Hyun Park after just a week at the top.

As has become the norm, Feng enjoyed a sensational Asian Swing, with the win in China following victory in Japan, and a second place in Malaysia two weeks previous. By winning back-to-back she becomes the first player to do so since she completed the same feat in 2016.

''I finished first in China, so I actually claimed the world No. 1 in front of all the people at home,'' said Feng, who finished on 9-under 279, one clear of Moriya Jutanugarn.

''I'm really happy about that, and I hope all the Chinese are going to be watching me ... Hopefully there will be more Chinese getting on the tours and more world No. 1s coming up from China.''

Feng becomes the fifth player to ascend to the top spot this year, in what has been an enthralling LPGA season.
