The tee times have been announced for Women’s Golf at the Olympic Games, starting Wednesday 17th August at the Olympic Golf Course in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Team Ireland are represented by World number 1 amateur golfer, Leona Maguire and Sport Ireland funded athlete, Stephanie Meadow. Maguire is in the first group to tee off alongside Brazilian golfer, Miriam Nagl and Malaysia’s Kelly Tan, who was 2014 LPGA Rookie of the Year. Meadow will take to the course with Michelle Koh (Malaysia) and Ladies European Tour (LET) player Nanna Koerstz Madsen of Denmark. The top ranked golfers will be competing in Rio this week as world number 1 Lydia Ko, number 2 Ariya Jutanugarn and number 3 Brooke Henderson are ready to embrace the Olympic course, turning all hope to securing one of the three coveted medals on offer.

Maguire aged 21 and Meadow at 24 have achieved huge success in their golfing careers to date, having played for Ireland on several occasions and being selected to play for Great Britain and Ireland (GB&I) Vagliano and Curtis Cup Teams.
