Grey Goose World Par 3 Championship, Turtle Hill Golf Club, Bermuda, Professional Golfers

Rafael Becker from Sao Paulo, Brazil is the 2016 Grey Goose World Par 3 Champion, played at the Fairmont Southampton’s Turtle Hill Golf Club on the paradise island of Bermuda.

Becker’s two-day total of 4-under-par, 104 was one shot better than European golfing great Barry Lane and two shots better than Americans Zack Byrd, Charlie Winegardner and Bermudian favourite Michael Sims. With the win, Becker netted a first place payout of $10,000 (USD).

Former Ladies European Tour players and Women & Golf instructors, Christine Langford and Samantha Head, competed in the professional category and with a credible six-over par total on the tricky course, Head was the second highest placed female pro and won a share of the prize fund.

In addition to the professionals, Women & Golf’s editor Alison Root was one of the amateur players that rounded out the 150-player field in this unique event and said:

“This is certainly no ordinary par-3 course and as the overall scores demonstrate it’s a stern test for any golfer. But with stunning views and a guaranteed Grey Goose and tonic to finish, it’s definitely a fun event.”
