SPORTS MARKETING SURVEYS INC. has announced a year on year increase in the number of rounds played during the final quarter of 2016.

SMS INC. have confirmed that the average number of rounds of golf played across the England, Wales and Scotland during the final quarter of 2016 is up 10% on the 4th quarter 2015.

The report shows promosing signs for the game, although the amount of rounds played compared to 2015 dropped by 5% throughout the course of the year.

Better weather is thought to be the main reason for the increase, which and prevented four consecutive quarters of decline.
