In an in-depth interview with Sports Illustrated ahead of next month's Winter Olympics, Lyndsey Vonn confessed she'd loved ex-partner of two years Tiger Woods, and wished him the best for his latest comeback.

The most decorated modern female skier of the modern era, Vonn looked back fondly at her time with a 'stubborn' Tiger, despite the difficulties the constant press attention brought the pair.

In a piece charting the scars that have plagued her otherwise illustrious career, Vonn talked about getting back in the fast-line following her various injury woes, relationships and family problems. Some of the most illuminating insights into the life of the former Olympic Gold medallist regarded her relationship with Tiger, which ended in 2015.

“(With Tiger), I mean. … I was in love,” Vonn told SI. “I loved him and we’re still friends. Sometimes, I wish he would have listened to me a little more, but he’s very stubborn and he likes to go his own way. I hope this latest comeback sticks. I hope he goes back to winning tournaments.”

Tiger will resume his comeback at the Farmers Insurance Open next month.
