Next year's Ryder Cup host Le Golf National looks set to host the Olympics after it was announced yesterday that Paris will get the 2024 Summer Games.

With the French capital and Los Angeles already agreed to alternate as hosts, the IOC decided at a meeting this week in Lima, Peru, that Paris would hold the ’24 Games, with LA to stage the world's biggest sporting event four years later.

The IOC recommended this June that golf, which re-emerged onto the Olympic roster after a century hiatus in Rio last year, should remain an Olympic sport through to Paris, with confirmation expected next week.
