Alice Plumb, from Sherborne Golf Club, Dorset, fired a new course record on Saturday September 2nd to win the Liphook Scratch Cup at the first time of asking.

The +1 handicapper followed a morning level par 72 with a record six-under-par 66 to finish four shots clear of the field. 

Alice, who has played golf since she was eight, previously at Yeovil and now at Sherborne, has been a stalwart of the Dorset County team for several years. She attended university in Florida before returning home to work on her game with her coach at Sherborne.

Four shots back with a 36-hole total 142 were Cornwall county team mates, Georgia Price from Bude & North Cornwall playing off +3 and Emily Toy, +2, Carlyon Bay. Amelia Williamson from Cromer also off +3, came in on 143 and in fifth place Waterlooville’s Kerry Smith +2 with 145.
